The CampsMost of the cats of the Warrior Cats series live in groups such as the Clans and Tribes. These groups live and support each other and have their own ways of life. So they also have a place in which they live, where they sleep and spend most of their time, this is generally known as a camp. This page shows what sort of camp the cats live in.
Clan CampsThe Clans all live in their own camp, located in their own territory. Although the camps locations and style can be very different, the way they work are more or less the same in every Clan. Each Clan has a general set up in their camp, They have several different dens where cats sleep depending on their duties to the Clan and have a center clearing where cats can socialize, share tongues, and gather for others things like Clan meetings. Dens
Other Facilities
The Individual CampsAlthough they have the same general way of living, the camps of each Clan has its own style, below is all the details know about the Clans' camps. Not every detail of each camp has been revealed in the books so certain facilities are not mentioned.ThunderClanForest TerritoryThe ThunderClan camp in the forest is located in a sandy ravine that was a riverbed a long time ago. It is surrounded by brambles, and the entrance is through a gorse tunnel.
Lake Territory The ThunderClan camp at the lake is in an abandoned quarry, known as the 'stone hollow'. It is a large clearing enclosed by tall cliffs. The main entrance is through a thorn tunnel, and there is also a secret entrance by climbing the rocks, there is no other safe way in or out of the camp as the cliffs are too high. These high cliffs offer good protection (but this can also be considered as a trap if they ever needed to escape) and keep out the wind.
WindClanForest TerritoryThe WindClan camp in the forest is located in a sandy hollow, surrounded by gorse, and the entrance is through a gorse tunnel. WindClan are the main exception to the general camp structure, as they like to sleep in the open rather than inside dens, however they still sleep in groups.
Lake Territory The WindClan camp at the lake is a shallow scoop in the ground. It does not have any natural protection, so they rely on the Warriors to protect it.
RiverClanForest TerritoryThe RiverClan camp in the forest is on a large, well-drained island, and is surrounded by reeds. It can be reached only by swimming, and as cats from other Clans cannot swim (or just hate water) the camp is very safe and was in fact never attacked. Floods however can be a danger and have swept young cats away before. All the dens are made up of tangles of reeds. They are often decorated with feathers and pretty shells and rocks. Other facilities are unknown. Lake Territory The RiverClan camp at the lake is on a piece of land located between two streams. It can be reached by swimming or along the stepping stones in the stream. The camp is quite safe but not quite as safe as the forest camp, and has been known to be disturbed by Twolegs.
Other facilities are unknown. ShadowClanForest TerritoryThe ShadowClan camp in the forest is in a hollow with muddy ground, surrounded by brambles. The entrance is through a thorn tunnel.
Other facilities are unknown. Lake Territory The ShadowClan camp at the lake is an area hidden between tangles of brambles and low-hanging branches. The entrance is through a thorn tunnel. All the dens are areas under bramble thickets. A branch overhanging the Leaders Den is used to call Clan meetings. SkyClanForest TerritoryDetails Unknown. Mountain Gorge The SkyClan camp covers a wide area in a mountain gorge. There are many caves along the cliffs of the gorge with a river at the bottom.
Outside the camp Because SkyClan are no longer with the other Clans, they have a couple of other places which can no longer be shared with the other Clans like they did in the forest.
TigerClan (Modern)The TigerClan that was created by Tigerstar was made up of ShadowClan and RiverClan in the forest. Because it was so big, neither of their former camps were big enough. So they made a new camp in RiverClan territory. However BloodClan, who were also allied at the time stayed in the old ShadowClan camp. The camp was next to the river, they built a hill of bones which was used by Tigerstar to call Clan meetings. Other facilities are unknown. TigerClan, LionClan and LeopardClanTigerClan, LionClan and LeopardClan are spoken only in old legends by the modern Clans. But it is believed they once lived in the forest territory. Little is known about them but they apparently lived in a similar way to the modern Clans. It seems that LionClan mainly lived in ThunderClan territory, TigerClan in ShadowClan territory and LeopardClan in RiverClan territory. Details on their camps is unknown.Tribe CampsThe Tribe cats also live in camps, which are very similar to that of the Clans. The Tribe Of Rushing WaterAll of The Tribe Of Rushing Water live in one large cave hidden behind a waterfall known as the 'Cave Of Rushing Water'.Kit-mothers and To-Bes rest in separate parts of the cave, while the Cave-Guards, Prey-Hunters, and Elders sleep in the main cave. A tunnel in the cave leads back to the 'Cave of Pointed Stones', where the StoneTeller communicates with their Tribe ancestors 'The Tribe Of Endless Hunting'. The AncientsThe ancients were the ancestors of The Tribe Of Rushing Water and Clans. They lived together by the lake long before the Clans came until they were later convinced to move to the mountains by Jayfeather / Jay's Wing and then over time became The Tribe Of Rushing Water. However most of the details of the way they lived while at the lake are unknown.Rock and the original Tribe(s)? Rock, an ancient ancestor of the modern Clans, Tribe Of Rushing Water and even The Ancients was from an ancient Tribe. He mentioned that there were in fact three Tribes who lived together in his time (one of which he lead) similar to the way the four Clans do. Rock was apprently born in the mountains but he has also been said to live my the lake. Perhaps his Tribe(s) moved from the mountains to the lake like The Ancients moved to the mountains, as Rock has said this had happened many times before and referred to it as a 'cycle'. Nothing is known about the way the ancient Tribe(s) lived in the mountains or the lake. |
