Prophecies aren't to be taken lightly, they are sent for a reason, and any smart cat would listen to them carefully. Below is a list of all the prophecies ever mentioned in the books.

It was said that all the prophecies originated from the first sunrise that was watched by Rock and Midnight at the lake:

Rock sat down on the cold stone. His blind blue eyes were round and white as moons. "We watched the first sunrise over the lake."
"It burst water into flame," Midnight recalled. "And in fiery reflection we see future of all cats: Tribe of Rushing Water, five Clan, four Clan, forest, and lake."
"We saw your whole journey, from lake to forest and back." Rock tipped his head as if watching the cats process in front of him. "The prophecies all came from that first reflected sunrise, the cat with a pelt of flame that would save the Clans, the silver cat who would save the Tribe of Rushing Water, and finally the four who would carry the last hope, not just of the Clans, but of light itself."

- The Last Hope - Prologue

StarClan Prophecies

Prophecies are taken very seriously by the Clan cats. A Prophecy sent down from StarClan, can tell of good news to come, or of a great danger. Although not always clear at first, these prophecies have always been proven true and have shaped the Clans in many ways.

Main Series

Prophecy Sign Interpreter Meaning First Mentioned In
"Fire alone can save our Clan." Shooting Star Spottedleaf The fire actually refers to the flame-colored pelt of Firepaw/Fireheart/Firestar. This prophecy told of how he was destined to save ThunderClan from the treachery of Tigerclaw and the destruction that followed. Bluestar first thought it meant real fire destroying the Clan, making her lose faith in StarClan, however soon realized the truth and regained her faith, when she died saving Fireheart from a pack of dogs. Into The Wild
"Beware a warrior you cannot trust." Dream Fireheart This dream was a warning that Fireheart should not trust Tigerclaw. At first he was unsure whether it could have meant Greystripe who has been sneaking out of camp to meet his RiverClan mate. However he soon realized he was wrong to suspect Greystripe and it was about Tigerclaw all along. Fire And Ice
"StarClan is calling you... do not be afraid." Dream Fireheart This dream was to tell Fireheart he would be chosen as Deputy, and later become Leader. At first he thought it was a warning of his death, but he was mistaken. Forest Of Secrets
"Beware an enemy who seems to sleep." Dream Fireheart This dream was to tell Fireheart that even though Tigerclaw was now exiled from ThunderClan, he was still a big threat to the Clan. Fireheart first thinks it refers to the sickness that the ShadowClan cats had or of Darkstripe, but he was mistaken as he soon learns when Tigerclaw tries to destroy ThunderClan. Rising Storm
"Something terrible is coming, Firestar. Four will become two, Lion and Tiger will meet in battle, and blood will rule the forest." A dream of a pile of bones and a river of blood oozing out of it, this was shown at the end of his Clan Leader ceremony where he received his name and nine lives. Firestar This dream was a warning of Tigerstars plans to rule the forest. ShadowClan and RiverClan join to make TigerClan lead by TigerStar. Firestar had to unite ThunderClan with WindClan to create LionClan. They thought this would be the final battle, but they learned TigerStar had recruited BloodClan and he was killed by their leader Scrouge. The final battle was between LionClan, now made up of all four Clans and Bloodclan. BloodClan lost and never ruled the forest however a lot of blood was spilled in the battle. The Darkest Hour
"Darkness, Air, Water and Sky will come together and shake the forest to its roots. Nothing will be as it is now, nor as it has been before." Dream Brambleclaw, Feathertail, Crowpaw and Tawnypelt This dream was to tell these cats that the Clans had to travel to find a new home. They traveled to the Sun Drown Place to find Midnight the badger who told them the same. The cats were responsible for leading the Clans to their new home, they could not stay because the forest was destroyed by Twolegs and the Clans would have been destroyed too. Midnight
"Before there is peace, blood will spill blood, and the lake will run red." Dreams of the lake strained with blood. Leafpool These dreams were to tell Leafpool about Brambleclaw and Hawkfrost who had been meeting in The Dark Forest and were being trained by Tigerstar. Hawkfrost and Tigerstar tried to get Brambleclaw to kill Firestar and become the ThunderClan leader. But he refused, Hawkfrost tried to kill him but Brambleclaw killed him instead, spilling his half-brothers blood into the lake. Starlight
"There will be three, the kin of the kin of the one with fire in his pelt, who will hold the power of the stars in their paws." Dream Re-interpreted by Jaypaw when he walked in Firestar's dream. This prophecy was about the arrival of three cats more powerful than any cat who ever lived before them, who would be related to Firestar, being the kin of his kin. They are later revealed to be Jayfeather and Lionblaze, Firestar's grandsons, and Dovepaw, Firestar's great-grand-niece. This prophecy was finally revealed to be a warning that the three would be born, with the power of the stars in their paws and this power was needed to save the Clans from being destroyed by The Dark Forest. Outcast, originally told to Firestar in Firestar's Quest
"After the sharp-eyed jay and the roaring lion, peace will come on dove's gentle wing." Dream Dovepaw This dream was to tell Dovepaw that she was the third cat of the prophecy of three, and that after all the trouble that came of Lionblaze and Jayfeather, Dovepaw will bring peace to ThunderClan. The Fourth Apprentice
"Beware, Jay's Wing, stormclouds are gathering on a dark breeze." A whisper from an ancient cat. Jayfeather This was to warn Jayfeather that Breezepelt was going to cause trouble and attack Jayfeather with help from a Dark Forest cat, later revealed to be Brokenstar. He was saved from the attack by Honeyfern from StarClan. The Fourth Apprentice
"The end of the stars draw near. Three must become four, to challenge the darkness that lasts forever." Dream Jayfeather This dream was to tell Jayfeather that 'the three' of the prophecy must become four to fight the rising Dark Forest. It was later revealed that the fourth was Firestar. Sign Of The Moon
"There will be three cats, kin of your kin, with the power of the stars in their paws. They will find a fourth, and the battle between light and dark will be won. A new leader will rise from the shadows of his death, and the Clans will survive beyond the memories of his memories. This is how it has always been, and how it will always be." Revealed to the reader at the end of The Last Hope. Unknown, but assumed to be the whole prophecy Rock and Midnight saw in the first sunrise at the lake. This was the full prophecy of the three. It was a warning of how there would be three, Jayfeather, Lionblaze and Dovewing who would hold the power of the stars in their paws and after finding the fourth, Firestar would win the battle against The Dark Forest. That Brambleclaw would lead the Clan as Bramblestar after Firestar's death, and the Clans would survive for long after his time had passed, that the Clans have always survived and they always will. The Last Hope
"Unite or die" A falling star Cloud Spots This was a sign that appeared when the spirits of the dead after the first battle between the moor and forest cats rose from their bodies. The spirits of their fallen friends told them them "You all live under the same stars" "And a single moon shines onto all your nests" "we came to tell you only one thing," "Unite or Die" "This must never happen again". This was a sign to warn that such pointless bloodshed must never happen again. The First Battle
"Only the blazing star can blunt the claw." Spoken by the spirits of the cats who had died. Gray Wing This warned of two things. first that the blazing star herb would be needed to cure the illness that would effect the cats of the forest and moor. Second that the cats must grow and spread like the blazing star, they must grow into what would be known as the Clans in order to survive. The Blazing Star
"A time of great change is coming for all the Clans. Embrace what you find in the shadows, for only they can clear the sky." Spoken by Firestar to the Medicine Cats at the half moon gathering. Jayfeather and other Medicine Cats When Alderpaw became a Medicine Cat Apprentice he alone saw a vision with Firestar, who after telling Sandstorm, learns he had watched a SkyClan Warrior ceremony. So Bramblestar sends him on his quest to find SkyClan, thinking they were the ones to clear the sky. However they do not find any answers on the quest, and failed to find SkyClan after they were driven out of their territory. However on the way back Sandstorm gives Alderpaw another sign "You have not failed, And it is not too late to fulfill the quest, It will merely require a different path.". After he explains it to Nettlepaw, she takes it as a literal meaning to go under the Thunderpath instead of over it and in the shadows of the under path they find to abandoned Kits who they take back to ThunderClan and name Violetkit and Twigkit. It was then thought they may be what is found in the shadows to clear the sky. Later after the two kits grow up in ShadowClan and ThunderClan as the Clans fight the evil of Darktail, they find he originally attacked SkyClan. Eventually Twigpaw goes alone to find her kin in SkyClan and brings them back to the Clans, when the now weaakened ShadowClan gave them some of their land. It currently suggests SkyClan was what they had to embrace. The Apprentice's Quest
"The dark sky must not herald a storm" Spoken by Echosong to the Medicine Cats at the half moon gathering. Jayfeather and other Medicine Cats At a half moon Medicine Cat gathering after SkyClan joined the Clans at the lake. Echosong, SkyClan's previous Medicine Cat gave the warning. It is currently unclear what the dark storm refers to. Darkest Night
"All fives Clans must stand together against the coming storm"" A shared vision at a half moon gathering All the Medicine Cats It was a warning that if SkyClan was driven away from the Lake all the clans would suffer. The Raging Storm

They told her they would split the sky, and then stars would rise, as a sign they supported her. This sign came true at the gathering when a tree branch split the sky, convincing the Clans her words were true. The stars would rise part meant her destiny and bringing the Clans together by gathering the petals of the blazing star.
