Canceled BooksSometimes books and the related ideas, characters and plots don't come out quite as planned. Sometimes an initial story may be changed, which is actually fairly common In Warrior Cats, as many characters and plots have actually greatly differed from their original design. However sometimes books may just be scrapped altogether, this may be because the idea or plot may not be up to scratch, or it could be for other reasons. This page tells of the known books that were canceled. WarriorsType of book:General Reason it was canceled: Warrior Cats was originally planned to be a one off book. However HarperCollins requested that the book be turned into a series. Victoria Holmes agreed to this and the one off book was expanded and became the original six book series of Warrior Cats. Which since has been expanded on with new series and other books. Allegiances of the ClansType of book:Field Guide Reason it was canceled: Allegiances of the Clans was originally planned to be the fifth field guide, following on from Cats of the Clans, Secrets of the Clans, Code of the Clans, and Battles of the Clans. However it was later decided by HarperCollins that there simply wasn't enough material to fill the book. So it was decided that the idea would be dropped. Early Clans Special EditionType of book:Super / Special Edition Reason it was canceled: A super / special edition about the start of the Clans was originally planned for release in 2011. However it was later revealed that the fifth series would follow the dawn of the Clans, and it is assumed that the super / special edition was dropped because of this. |
